Hi All,

Would you have any recommendations for teenage boy with acne has had this for a few years now and tried creams and antibiotic medication from doctor and other washes over the years with not much improvement.

Has anyone tried at home light mask or have any recommendations of anything else to try that helped with teenage acne? gut health recommendations? Would like something more natural if possible that works etc.

It affects his self esteem and confidence I would just love to help him get this cleared. Thanks so much.

If he’s tried everything else then ask your GP for a referral to a dermatologist to try Roaccutane. It really does work wonders, although it can have side effects (the side effects were mild for me but it varies).

My son is 16 and suffered with acne quite badly and seemed to get worse when he had to start shaving more than once a week. At christmas it was really affecting his confidence. He has always suffered from about 14 but got worse the end of last year he uses the Nuetrogena clean and clear face wash which was keeping it bay and it when it got worse someone on mumsnet suggested Acnecide. It is amazing his skin although not completely clear has massively improved. You have to buy it from the pharmacy counter - it is £13 but works wonders, when you start using it you just do once a day but then build up to twice a day. Apparently if you go the GP they suggest using Acnecide first before they prescribe anything else.
