Autism diagnosis

I think dd16 is finally wanting to look into an autism diagnosis. Obviously we know there is an enormous back log in the NHS but want and need this to be done as quickly as possible. I understand there is something called ‘Right to choose’ which can be faster than a generic referral. Just keen to hear if it would be better to just go privately from the start?

I used right to choose for my DD's assessment. There's a FB group called Children ADHD/Autism diagnosis - Right to Choose support (England) which has lots of information.
