Six months with Hoya Miyosmart glasses and prescription jumped up by three steps - any positive / negative experience of sight loss management?

Hi mums,
We invested in miyosmart lenses 6 months ago for my 14 year old son who power in that eye was just -0.50 however, in three months of having the glasses, one eye has worsened by 0.75, which is three steps . It has gone to -1.25. Previously, it had taken over a year to change by 0.5, with normal glasses. I am aware growth spurts etc can affect these jumps, but as I am worried about making decisions which have a negative impact on his long term eye health, I am looking for some similar experiences to find out if longer term use of Miyosmart glasses has helped reduce their power in eyes or if anyone has had issues using the glasses? In my case the power in his one eye has actually increased at a very high and unexpected rate which is the exact opposite of what these glasses were supposed to do. Thanks!

When I looked at them for my kid, there were other options with contact lenses and eye drops?

Sorry that they haven’t slowed things for your kiddo.
