MCR are absolute heaven compared to Children of Bodum. Ahhhh the sweet delights of finnish death metal most probably await you!!

You lucky lucky thing!

Tortington · 09/05/2008 21:16

i love MCR ( some)

death metal ...arrrgghh

my son went through an iron maiden phase which suited dh as he loves Maiden

we are slight metal headed parents.

Rosbo · 09/05/2008 21:19

Lol, just me then!! I can't wait til my dd2 gets out of her 'emo' phase and goes back to jack johnson. I LIKED the preppy phase even if it was expensive!

my son doesn't seem interested at all. i wonder if it's because we drove him mental with it

ranting · 09/05/2008 21:28

I must admit I do like my music on the heavier side of metal (Babes in Toyland etc) but even I cringe at some of the crap ds listens to.

Mind you when ds is on the webcam to his gf in the back room and dh and I walk through, we have a little mosh behind just to thoroughly embarrass him seem like with it parents..

It don't half make your brain hurt when you're past 30 though.

2shoes · 09/05/2008 22:07

I love the fact that ds loves metal. he introduced me to AX7

Tortington · 09/05/2008 22:09

2shoes ever heard of adema?

BabieWabbit · 09/05/2008 22:27

I think i'm going to cry
My chemical Romance are amazing!!! Have to agree that Children Of Bodem are a bit heavy...
(you will have to excuse this post but i love them with all my heart...God i'm such typical 16 yo )But Please Please Please Don't make your dc stop listening to My Chem ...I know that wasn't the point But it's one of my worst fears lol! And they are exeptional live i saw them 3 times last year...Okay..i think i'm getting a bit stalker-ish now ill shut up

ranting · 09/05/2008 22:29

LOL!

Fear not, I draw the line at censoring his music taste.....girlfriends maybe , music taste, no.

BabieWabbit · 09/05/2008 22:34

Lol i like that, I think it's within a mothers right to cencor girlfriends

BabieWabbit · 09/05/2008 22:35

censor

waycat · 10/05/2008 05:45

My two boys (12 and 13) listen to music on their phones and Ipods, and I haven't a clue who it is, since I stopped following the current music scene years ago.

I do sometimes catch snippets of older songs that I recognise, but most of it is just un-intelligable trash.

Hhmm..... I seem to remember my mum having the same opinion of the music my brother and I used to listen to.

random · 10/05/2008 09:13

DS into all sorts of metal ..MCR I love but the heavier stuff like Children of Bodem and trash metal and sceamo stuff drives me mad! He not only listens to it but plays it very loudly on his guitar.Good job I live in the end house!!!

mumof2teenboys · 10/05/2008 09:54

I must drive my son (15) mad! My taste in music is far 'heavier' than his

He listens to mcr, velvet revolver, ratm, metallica etc. I like nin, ministry, white zombie.

Poor son!! I must embarrass him so much when his friends come over!!

BabieWabbit · 10/05/2008 13:12

Lol NIN are amazing
I generally can't play my music too loud because of my brother...But when it's only me in the house...

ranting · 10/05/2008 19:40

Ds loves Ministry, NIN and Skinny Puppy, he pinched all my cds of aforementioned bands and now I can't get the damn things back!
