Is Olivia Rodrigo bad for DS 13?

Went into ds's room to take his phone last night and when I looked on his screen there was a woman in what I would deem to be quite a suggestive position and quite revealing clothes. I asked ds in the moment and he said it was just a popular singer at the moment called Olivia Rodrigo. Didn't want to ask him why he was looking at the picture but when I checked the search history I saw he had been looking for 'olivia rodrigo bikini', 'olivia rodrigo bra' and I don't think he was looking for her singing.
How do I approach this or is it just considered normal for teen boys this age? I don't really want to make an awkward situation but I want to make sure he doesn't look at anything harmful.. sorry for the quite unnecessary post I just don't want to approach this the wrong way.

At 13 I’d say that’s fairly normal. As long as he’s blocked from looking at adult content, if you haven’t already then I’d have a chat with him about porn and the dangers as well.

The bikini photos of pop stars, I would just let that go. I remember looking at boyzone with their shirts off at 13!

Also I’m not her target market but her album is really good! I’ve got several on her songs on my favourite play list now, vampire is good.

thank you for the replies, is she a very popular singer? I haven't heard of her at all!

Yes she’s popular, my DDs 7; 10 & 12 like her. Like other popular singers she dresses and acts for the camera and fans.

My six year old granddaughter thinks she's brilliant, she sings along to her songs in the car. She used to be Taylor Swift fan but has recently moved on 😁

I’d much rather find a picture of Olivia Rodrigo in a scanty outfit on my teenage kid’s phone than porn! That actually seems pretty healthy and normal for a teenage boy, to be honest, OP.

She’s a pretty good singer, and a lot more talented and interesting than looking at the pictures of women in their bras in the Kays catalogue like teenagers used to do at that age 😆

I like Olivia Rodrigo alot, she's a modern Avril Lavigne but generally pretty wholesome ex Disney starlet

She and Sabrina Carpenter have a bit of beef and Sabrina's performance persona is more burlesque glamour and her songs and videos in general are aimed at an adult audience

Many teenage boys look at nudity and are completely fine. Don't worry about it.

A bikini pic of a female popstar is really quite tame these days! Almost seems quite sweet and innocent, in comparison to what lots of kids are being exposed to on the internet. I'd just make sure his settings are locked down so he can't access actual porn.

I'm a 47 year old Olivia Rodrigo fan. Her song Vampire is so good!

As for your DS, as long as you have filters on his phone he's going to be fine. I remember perving on boy bands in their undies back in my youth. Same thing.

She's really good! And pretty famous, you may not have heard of her, but likely have heard some of her songs on the radio/playing in shops etc.

To be fair I think that's pretty normal - at least he's trying to consume content that she has put out there/had control over rather than actual porn. She has pretty scantily clad images over her socials and even an album cover I think, so it's not like he's looking at X rated material!
