Hello DD turned 13 in Sept and started her period on 20th Nov it lasted about 7 days. Today she's had a bleed not fully red like a brown/reddish bleed. I'm concerned it's only the 8th December. Can anyone shed any light on this is it normal? Do I need to take her to the GP?

That's normal. It can take months for her cycle to settle down.

I think them being erratic at the start is normal. Dd started hers at 12 and I was very surprised that over the first year there could be any thing from 17-28 days between them and how heavy they could be. You could see here being physically paler if there were 2 close together or it was a heavy one and her iron stores were low. It settled after 10-12 months and although still on the heavy side at time not to that extent and no longer happening close together

Normal

Yes, normal at first. The brook website has some great info including stuff like 'whats normal', you might want to read it with your DD or have a look and send her the link.

Ok super thank you! The first one being 7 days wasn't great I had to buy even more period pants! Let's see how long this one lasts. Thanks for the advice.
