ds 14th birthday this week.He is not having a party thank goodness and is getting a small camcorder with grandparents contributions etc.He is mad on making films! He has asked for his 2 best friends to sleepover sat pm so that they can edit and watch teh film they plan to make during the day.We were thinking of going to the pub directly opposite us for a meal and a drink between 8 and 10 and leave them mainly because we are renting a tiny flat and they will have the living room and we will have nowhere to go.Shoudl i ask the parents of his friends if tehy mind or do you think its ok to go armed with 2 mobile phones They are all sensible (well as much as they can be at 13)

I would go and leave them. Maybe as a courtesy tell the other parents what you plan. Most would appreciate it and if they dont nothing lost, just the knowledge that when your Ds sleeps over things maybe different. He sounds a lovely sensible boy.

Good luck and enjoy your evening out.

If I were the parents of one of the friends, I would prefer to be told what the arrangements are. I wouldn't pull my ds from the sleepover but I would rather know what the plans are.

Hope ds has loads of fun on his birthday.

Oh yes. I'd tell the parents. I wouldn't expect them to do anything, but it's courtesy to let them know.

I know they won't stop them coming as they are a lot more easy going than me but I think I should let them know so will ring them.
