Lymecycline / Finacea

Hi. How long does it take to start seeing some results on Lymecycline for acne? My DS has been on it for 5 weeks now and no improvements yet. He's 16. Some days it looks better then the next day, it looks bad worse again.
He's also been switched from epiduo to finacea last week. Has anyone had any good results on this topical? Thank you

For DS Lymecycline didn’t stop or prevent his skin breaking out. It only made it less severe. Overtime, his face got a bit better but his back is quite bad. He keeps taking it just to keep on top of things rather than clearing it up.

It improved things for us after a good few weeks (maybe 6-8) but things disimproved immediately once he stopped it. He's on a second round now, and while his skin is a lot better, it's not good enough.
I've a feeling it either works quickly or does not work (much) at all.
We are hoping to get a dermatology referral now as the acne is really affecting his mood.
