Which phone?

If your 13 year old has a phone, what do they have? My 13 year old has had the IPhone SE since he turned 11 and he has asked for an upgraded one for Christmas. I am thinking of giving him my iPhone 13 Pro and upgrading myself to the 16, as I’d buy him a refurb anyway so I don’t see the difference. Is it tight if I give him mine as his main gift? I’m probably overthinking this 🤔

My nearly 13yo has iPhone 13 and wants the 15 for Xmas 🙄

Mine all have fairly inexpensive motorolas. Even the biggest teen who vaguely cares about such things.

I got my 12 and 14 year old iPhone 15 for Christmas 2 years back. It assumed all their friends had them. They don't.

We still have iPhone 11s 😬😬

My 12 year old has the iPhone 13 and doesn't really want a new one so he's fine. Both of my 15 year old daughters have the iPhone 15

My 15 and 17 year olds both have iPhone 13s and DH and I have 15s.
We don't give them as presents but that means they need to wait until we're ready to upgrade before they do.
If they wanted a phone at a different time or better than our hand me down it would need to be a present

My 13yo got an iphone 14 for his birthday. He had my old iphone X before that but I just gave him it. I wouldn't have given him a hand me down for a present personally. I have the iphone 12 and DH has iphone 13. Neither of us have bothered to upgrade since we don't really see the point so we are both sim only and DS' phone is on contract.

Mine have second hand androids. Samsung if they're lucky, Huawai if not. they don't do anything other than crappy YouTube and a bit of social media so no need for anything more and i have an android so they need to as well for parental controls to work.

My 13 year old has a iPhone 13. I just gave her my old one when I upgraded (not as a present). Her first phone was an iPhone 11 and I gave her it for her 11 birthday - it was my old one but in perfect condition and she didn't know (or care) that it wasn't new. Now she would most definitely care! When I upgrade my iPhone 15 she will probably get that, but not as a birthday or Christmas gift. It's unlikely I would buy her a new iPhone because it's just not necessary and they are too expensive to be not looked after.
