Music when phone is locked?

Hi,

I use Family Link to lock my DDs phone after 1.5 hours screentime during the week.

However, this means she can't listen to Spotify which, understandably is causing issues.
She refuses to listen to CDs - says their archaic. I guess they are in her eyes.

I want her to be able to listen to her music....

I looked into getting a 'Mighty' but you have to have Spotify Premium which we can't afford.

What does everyone else do - what am I missing?

Thanks x

We use family link. Instead of locking the phones we use the daily limit. After that it locks but you can choose apps (Spotify) to always be always allow. This means Spotify can be used while the phone is locked to all other apps.

Can you explain to me how that works!
If I give her 1.5 hours, I then have to limit all the other apps that she uses, to use within tat time otherwise she goes over her set time?
So 30 mins Whatsapp, 30 mins Roblox, 30 m8ns google (which I dont think you can limit?)

It just does't work for us unless I lockit outright.

So confused - any help apprecated!

So I would set it to have 1.5 hours of screen time (daily limit). DC can then use that for any app or apps they like. After the times gone the phone locks. They can then only use apps that you have put as always allowed in the apps limit page ( if you tap on the app in the app limits page you can block, set limit or always allow). So Spotify you would always allow so they can use it all the time. If you ever don't want them to use that press lock phone and that will disable all apps.

I have my dd's iphone on 'always allowed' for Spotify so she can still position to music while other apps are off.

Download the mp3s off youtube with one of those youtube mp3 converter websites. Buy a usb stick to put the music on and a cheap usb speaker.

Obviously do not download any copywritten music 😀
