Question- Wife and I taking my son to Reading Festival on Sunday who is a massive Oasis fan (as are we) to see Liam Gallagher headlining. Haven't been to a festival of this size and pointers please - he wants to be as far front as possible and thinks we need to set out our stall from the start of the day to secure our spot! Means 9 hours of standing in same spot before he comes on and concerns re boredom and bathroom breaks. Any advice on this please would be appreciated

Yes you will need to be in first. They'll be wiring for front doors before gates opening. If you want to try and get out for toilet / food access make sure you have staked out the landmarks or take a flag so you can find each other again. The crowd naturally moves a bit as more people move in.

Wear a hat. Bring sunscreen.

It is a bit grim down the front, plenty of people pissing in bottles and throwing them around or just pissing on the floor. Men and women.

You will also be the last to get out, last time I was at reading the little scroats started setting fires in the arena before moving to the camping fields.

Our DD is currently working at Reading. She's over excited about seeing him (for what seems to be the 90 millionth time).
She's planning to be there at 07.30.

You might want to pack disposable plastic ponchos for the aforementioned bottles of piss that get chucked about (why?????)
