Being ready to go out

If you are going out with your teen do you give them a time to be ready and if they aren’t ready do they miss the trip?
My youngest wanted to go out shopping today so we agreed together to be ready to go at 11 as she has training for her hobby later. I woke her up and then left her to get ready. She appeared to be up and I could hear movement. needless to say she’s only just come downstairs and we aren’t going- no row or argument as I just said it was too late.

You mean she came down 2.5 hours later expecting to go shopping ...😲😲😲😲
Was you not shouting at 10.45 to say we are leaving in 15 mins ? 🤣 op these kids will kill us for sure. When I was a teen I would be counting my lucky stars for a shopping trip and would probably have been ready at the door at 7am. Kids today are different. I defo tell mine to be ready at a certain time but usually 15 mins before then I'm screaming at them to make sure they ready ... but they do usually have me at the door for 5 mins where they tell me they are coming and ready but still putting their socks on or something like that. Could you not give her a nudge next time ? Only if you think it will help of course. I know every family parents different. X

I know- she actually thought we’d still be going!
she hates nagging and has asked that I don’t do that so that’s why I don’t prod her. I would have gone back into the bedroom if I hadn’t heard her walking around her room just incase she’d fallen back to sleep.
im hoping it’s a lesson to her to be ready- she still doesn’t seem to fully appreciate that my time is as valuable as hers and that I can’t be expected to wait around while she ‘gets dressed!’ Blooming kids!
