Mobile phones after 13

Just been emailed by Google to say my DD will be able to switch off location and the safety settings I have set up if she wants post 13. Is there any way around this/ any other things I can use to keep her safe other than removing her phone if it's switched off?

You tell her not to touch the settings if she wants to continue with her mobile. You pay the bill so she has to follow your rules.

Just bought my son a Google phone. My husband can still limit his hours/usage etc.

Yeah I'm sorry I can't remember specifics but there's a way you can override it. I still use it on mine at 15 for downtime, limit app usage and keep an eye on what he's downloading. The location thing is useful more for locating the phone than him! I keep it because if he ever needs it removing for poor behaviour or whatever I can just lock it, I don't have to try and physically remove it.

We go by the while I'm paying the bill route.

Dts are 13, they have to keep location on, they know that I can and will check their phones randomly. In the holidays they have to give me their phones by 10pm. They have to ask to download any apps.
