Social anxiety

Is there anyone who can help me to understand my dd?
She was a really happy and quietly confident child until her teen years. Then a mix of bullying and Covid lockdown resulted in social anxiety. We sought the help of a private psychologist who worked wonders and got her back on her feet. Sessions were completed about 18 months ago and dd does not want to go back for any more help.
Most of the time she is ok and we get wonderful glimmers of the confident and happy girl she is. She went to prom and had a wonderful time, she has been shopping with friends a couple of times, on holiday in New York she went off exploring and bought herself lunch. She went for a piercing in a busy studio full of other teens a few weeks ago.
I just start to feel positive and then she has struggled to go out today despite it being an activity she loves and has done in the past very successfully. She did go through with it in the end after a pep talk and some tough love and she is happy now.
I suppose it’s just one of those things and we need to push through together and focus on the positives and how far she’s come but it’s so hard!
she is a wonderful daughter and has such a bright future ahead of her.

Like anyone she has good days and bad days. People's ability to overcome their anxiety varies. Everyone has wobbles.

SallyWD- sending love and support. I know how hard it is and don’t feel I can share with friends as it’s her struggle and I not mine ❤️

I think you are right. She seems to find things harder when she has an early morning start. Just grateful that she managed to overcome her anxiety and ended up having a really good day. Hope she can learn from it and become stronger.
