Teen split from friends

DD is going into S3 (Scotland) - Y10
Form classes have been announced and “all her friends are in a different class” and she’s “the only one without a friend” - yes she’s a young teen so hormones have a lot to answer
i know she’ll see her friends at break and lunch, and they all mix during lessons anyway, and she’ll make new friends, and it’s good to mix with new people, plus they are starting options (dropping some subjects and choosing others) so a lot of it would be due to scheduling - I get it
but she’s really upset, would it be unreasonable to write to the head of year and ask if it’s possible for her to be moved to a form with some of her friends?
or should I just keep reminding her of all the above and keep myself out of it?
