Summer part-time/temp work

My son has finished his GCSE's so would like a part-time summer job before he returns to school In September. So far, he has applied to: McDonalds, KFC, Nandos, Subway, Aldi. Local supermarkets don't seem to have any vacancies locally. Only heard back from Aldi so far with a rejection. Any other ideas? Its hard to know where to look if many places don't necessarily advertise. I hear about 16yo's getting jobs in supermarkets all the time but there doesn't seem to be any.

Pubs and restaurants, for pot washing. Supermarkets have less staff nowadays so tend to use their existing staff for the holiday cover that school kids used to provide. Bars and restaurants often have a higher turnover so there's more chance of a job.

He's just applied for Next and TK Maxx today too. Will try bars and restaurants too.
