Social worker contact

Hi,
We have had a pretty rough week. DD (14) came home from school on Monday in tears and told me that a boy in her year had coerced her into sending him a picture of her breasts. He told her that he would have people waiting outside school to beat her up if she didn't and there is screenshot evidence of this. DD was bullied and physically attacked after school in her first two years at secondary (thankfully stopped now) and panicked that it was about to resume and so sent him the picture via Snapchat. She said he did not screenshot it and it is not in circulation.

It transpires that he has done this to several other girls as well as some more serious allegations of sexual abuse and it has all come out this week. The school social worker has been lovely and the girls are going to receive counselling and supportive work on coercive control.

We are currently away and reception is patchy. I have received a text message and voicemail from the local authority from a social worker asking me to get in touch which I've tried to do but no answer. I imagine they are off now for the weekend but it's worrying me. Does anyone have any idea what they next steps might be from a social worker perspective?

Thank you

To check your dd is okay.
To offer a referral to counseling if there is any in your area.
To check that you are providing the support that you obviously are.
It is supportive rather than anything else.

They may also check if the police are involved, ascertaining if dd is looking to give an interview if they haven't already.
