Best shoes - 6th form

DD starts 6th form this Sept and also has work experience in summer. She has black blazer suit and blouse / shirt but shoe choice proving tricky. Want something comfy but also want to make sure she’s ’fitting in’ with the remainder of the girls iyswim? DM shoes look clunky and not very professional (in my view) but if everyone’s in them and it’s generally accepted… 🤷🏻‍♀️ ? And we thought about loafers but not sure of best / most popular brand, if any? Any help would be v kind. Thank you 🙏🏻

DD wore Clark’s loafers pretty much throughout school and sixth form - always lasted well, looked stylish + were comfy

DD hat Geox lace ups but also Doc Martens (birthday present from the grandparents).

But they take ages to break in properly.

Thank you @reluctantbrit - we’ve had a look and quite like the DMs - appreciate the warning about wearing them in! 🙏🏻

Clarks Hamble Oaks brogues are always my go to work and school shoe. Often on sale on Amazon down to as little as £17.50 instead of closer to £70 normally which is a win. I think brogues are such a classic shape, inoffensive and never go out of fashion really.

That said I'm assuming your DD is at a sixth form with uniform, converse or vans are much more appropriate at my local one where students wear their own choice of clothes.

All DDs friends had lace-up brogues.

Mine wore DMs as they wore out other shoes so quickly.

DS switched to army boots. Under normal trousers they just look like shoes.

Not all DMs need breaking in and they do loafer style shoes.

Thank you @Mabelface , @Octavia64 , @Singleandproud for the advice - Lace ups / brogues and DMs seem to be popular! We’ve gone for the DMs - expensive but hopefully built to last. DD happy too (always a plus!) 🙏🏻
