Make up tutorials for tweens please

Can anyone recommend kid-friendly makeup tutorials on YouTube please? Good, fun, inspirational people to follow?

Even better if they are boys, but I'm not too fussed either way.

My DS (age 10) is experimenting with my makeup regularly at home, and I'd like to get him a bit of his own stuff so he can learn how to do it properly.

I am terrible at doing my makeup, never got into it or learned, so I'm no help!

Thanks in advance.

No ten year olds need to be wearing make up...boy or girl. Some lip balm is plenty.

CautiousOptimist · 28/05/2024 15:01

Thanks for your thoughts on that, although I didn't ask for them!

I would like to give DS the opportunity to try it out at home for fun, and learn how to do it (in the same way plenty of tween girls do). He wouldn't wear it out of the house at this age, maybe in a few years.

You say boy or girl, but I think you are troubled by the thought of a boy wearing makeup, and I don't think there's any need to be.

Thanks anyway.

I got my dd the Bobby Brown teenage beauty book when she was thirteen and we were just talking about it the other day when I was trying to think of a present for a friends dd.

Ten is quite young for make up though.

CautiousOptimist · 28/05/2024 15:03

Thanks, that sounds good I'll look for that.

No I'm not in the least bit troubled by the thought of it.. I do not think a ten year old should be wearing make up. I wouldn't have allowed my DD to or my ds at that age. Like I said, some lip balm is fine and I'd be ok with some nail varnish. I'd say exactly the same if you were posting about a ten year old girl.

10 is too young for make up, other than tinted lip balm in my opinion.
What about nail varnish, you could get him a selection of peel off colours and he could try some nail art.

CautiousOptimist · 28/05/2024 15:09

Nail varnish is a good idea, thanks. He likes me to paint his in the holidays but hasn't tried on himself so I could get him his own. Birthday coming up you see!

Has he seen Glow Up on iPlayer?

CautiousOptimist · 28/05/2024 15:14

No, not aware of that. I'll look it up.
