Waxing

13yo DD has asked me if she can get her legs waxed. I've no particular issues with this personally (her body her choice etc) but I've never actually been waxed myself. Is she too young?

Has she removed leg hair before?
Maybe try shaving first as that's a less painful option

She's been shaving her legs and underarms for a couple of years. She hates it. She's fair skinned with brown hair, so it's very obvious, and she does dance and gymnastics.

I would let her

Yes I'd let her -from experience it will make her feel a lot better.

Let her. I first tried it at 13. It hurt so bloody much I didn’t try it again until I was mid 20s!

Thank you - I'll contact a local beauty therapist and check if they have a minimum age etc. I'm not confident to do it ourselves at home!

This made me chuckle. I'm a complete wimp with pain, and can't imagine being brave enough, but my oldest DD, 20, gets waxed everywhere regularly and swears it's not that bad!

My 13 year old uses the hair removal cream Veet on her legs, it doesn’t smell bad like Imaac used to. It’s working really well for her and she only does it about once every 2 or 3 weeks. She still shaves underarms though.

I’ve taken my 12 year old to have her legs waxed, salon didn’t have an issue with her age. Now I do it at home for her.
