16th birthday present

It's my ds birthday soon he'll be 16.

He's asked for trainers, a football tracksuit and a retro football top. Which has totalled a few hundred pounds. Was thinking of putting a bit of money in his card for him to choose something else.

All he's into is clothes at the minute.

On the day we'll have cake, he wants a tray of donuts instead of a cake. We'll go out for a meal of his choice.

Does that all sound ok? It all feels a bit dull for a 16th. It's what he wanted. A few of his friends did bowling with mates or parties but ds doesn't want to do anything like that.

I think it sounds fine.

my DD will be 16 in the middle of the exams, there isn’t anything she really wants except to get her nose pierced which we’ve said we will allow then, maybe will get her a picture for her room as she’s been changing it around, maybe a bit of jewellery (not expensive or anything!)

we will also go out for a meal or get a takeaway, she wouldn’t want to do anything with friends either, and there is an exam the next day anyway.

I am getting fairly expensive perfume of her choice (90€) a few smaller presents/bit of makeup/books etc, a weekend shopping trip to a nearby very fun city (her money but we are staying in a cheap hotel and meal of choice that evening).

Also exams, also not bothered about party/friends etc.

We seem to all be doing similar which is reassuring!
