My DS (14) has been growing fairly slowly, but tonight he suddenly seemed so much bigger. We checked and it looks like he's grown an inch in the last 5 weeks!

He's on the smaller side in his group of friends so he's very happy. I'm just curious if he'll continue at the same rate for a little while as he's not really had a spurt before.
Also waiting for the voice to break as he's also the squeakiest amongst his friendship group!

Did people find that with their boys? Big teen growth spurt then the voice changes?

This happened to all the boys on my dads side of the family OP!
My brother was the smallest in school right up until y11 prom…. He was late going through puberty but when it started he grew rapidly! He went from barely 5ft to 6ft 4in in a year, he has the vertical stretch marks up his back to prove it 😂
I would look to family genetics for clues! I think I read somewhere the average height for a man is 5 inches taller than his mum?

With all my three boys, the voice change happened first followed by the 15cm in a year growth spurt. All around age 14.

My son will be happy to hear this, he’s convinced he’s going to be a midget all his life!

Our DC a 3lb prem baby. Age 2 clothes at 5. The oldest in Reception and the smallest child in the school. He stayed tiny until yr8/9 and then seemed like he might end up about 5ft 10. As year 10 began he seemed to grow so fast you could see it. He’s 6ft 1, Yr 13 and still growing.

Beginning of Yr 11, I asked him to try on last year’s school shirts 10 days before the end of the hols. They fitted, morning of tge new term “Mum I can’t do the collar up” - luckily I did have some bigger shirts

My sister is 6ft 2! Alas, I am a mere 5'5!

She once got some jeans for Christmas when she was 14. Fitted lovely on Christmas Day. By middle of January they looked like pedal pushers.
