Bobbinsbop · 03/04/2024 12:24

Dd has a driving test booked for July but she is nearly ready.
her instructor said there is a way of finding cancellations, i have googled but there is a lot of websites and apps.
can anyone recommend which one to use?

Testi is the best one - I think it might be the official one..some other apps or websites will charge you a fortune.

We used Testi - but bear in mind for really popular test centres there is a bit of a lag and we found 99% of the time by the time we clicked through to the DVSA site they’d be gone. Hundreds of people all trying to nab them at the same time. Our DD’s driving instructor managed to get her cancellations in the centre we wanted within 2 weeks for both of her tests. I think perhaps instructors have a way of accessing the cancellations?

We just kept looking on the dvla website, they release them regularly

Book test at latest date - even if months away. Get testi app (about £6 from memory) and it pings an alert evert cancellation. My son got 2nd test 3 weeks after he failed his 1st using this app.

Do you have to book a test first and then go to reschedule? Or are you just refreshing the available dates page before booking?

I used Testi for DD, as PPs have recommended. Wasn't a big cost, and did the job of finding tests. It alerts you to new tests being available at your chsoen test centre(s) - you can nominate 3 - then diverts you to the DVLA website when you find one.

Managed to bring my DC's forward with Testi. Takes a bit of setting up but well worth the effort and money, when you think of all the extra weeks of driving lessons / learner insurance.
