Clothes? Where to shop?

My daughter is 16 and needs new clothes but we have no idea where to shop or what style she wants. Anyone got any outfit ideas? We don't have a huge budget and there doesn't seem to be much choice in primark etc

Thank you

My dd does most of her shopping in Primark, H&M, urban outfitters and Zara

Outfits she wears tends to be leggings and crop top
Cargo trousers and crop top
Jeans and a long sleeve crop top
Joggers and crop top
All with her Jordan, Nike Air forces or Uggs

She's 16

To add to my post she does most of her shopping on Vinted and buys secondhand as it's a lot cheaper

H&M or New look

There are loads of fashion inspo accounts on Instagram if you need some ideas

ToHellBackAndBeyond · 06/03/2024 20:51

My lot frequent the charity shops because they have a wide range from many different shops / designers. Easier than trawling the high streets or on-lines.

Nomorecoconutboosts · 06/03/2024 20:51

New Look
Sports Shops
Hollister occasionally
next for basics - go up to age 16 online

Twoshoesnewshoes · 06/03/2024 20:53

Wide fit cargo trousers
crop tops
wide leg jeans
slightly crop sweaters
agree New Look is a good place to start

zaxxon · 06/03/2024 20:55

Mine is younger but likes Monki - owned by h&M, but trendier and more colourful

Rainyblue · 06/03/2024 20:56

DD 18 has discovered Vinted and loves it. She says it’s more interesting than high street shopping. She’s had one or two duff things, but generally it’s been good.

For new clothes - H&M, New Look.

Tinytigertail · 06/03/2024 20:59

My DD is a little older (18) but shops at Brandy Melville, Stradivarious, Pull & Bear, Urban Outfitters and also lots from Vinted.

hendoop · 06/03/2024 21:06

Another vote for vinted
Zara
H&M
Primark
Desvu
White fox
PLT

hendoop · 06/03/2024 21:07

What looks does she like and what is her body type
All the teens wear leggings white trainers and crop tops

Littlefish · 06/03/2024 21:11

Bershka
Monki
H&M
Urban Outfitters
Depop

She very tall and slim. Self conscious about little boobs. Very long blonde hair, absolutely gorgeous. All I can find is crop tops. She doesn't have cargo pants so that's an idea. I'll get her to have a look on Vinted ❤️

Urban outfitters cargo pants are very favoured by the yoof, and quite good quality, if she can find those on vinted.

Multipleexclamationmarks · 07/03/2024 08:39

Mine likes to scour charity shops.
Other than that small independent shops and markets. We live near Manchester so she likes to go to Afflecks Palace and the northern quarter.

rileybelle · 07/03/2024 14:06

If she's tall and thin then I'd recommend brandy melville. It's all very muted, white/neutral tones and the pieces coordinate well with lots of things (joggers, jeans, skirts etc). Also really good for things to layer, lots of vest tops with floaty sweaters etc. My daughter loves it. It's also not bank breakingly expensive.

Not suitable for anyone over a size 8 though 😂

Lots of Hollister in our house at the minute - DD says they’ve gotten a lot better after going out of trend for a few years and I agree with her. Lots of lovely, good quality stuff at very reasonable prices

Urban Outfitters she tends to avoid nowadays as quality has gone massively downhill and prices are getting ridiculous

She does quite a bit of her shopping on ASOS - loads of choice, hundreds of brands and often good sales on

She also likes Bershka, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius and occasionally a bit of Zara

Travelban · 07/03/2024 15:50

Urban outfitters is our teenagers' favourite shop.
We get a few bits from tkmaxx
Done Berschka and Shein but out of favour currently
Also do the odd market when in a big city (Camden etc)
Zara mainly for party dresses
