Absolutely at my wits end

I am starting to wonder if i will ever get on with my daughter again she takes everything i say and do the wrong way and then we end up having a big fight i just cant get it right

hey at least she's yours. i have 2 DSDs and much as i love them the whole "you're not my mum" routine gets a bit stale... i remember my dad telling me that when i was a parent i'd get payback for being a pain....damn but he was right! just remember, it not you it's the hormones!! i've come to the conclusion that i can't win the war so i'll settle for any battles i can get!!

Thanks duomonstermum they can drive you mad cant they. There was a massive bust up here today all because she wouldnt turn the tv down when he asked her to its like a battle of the wills. I find it quite tiring being a single parent with 2 children battling with her every day about one thing or another but i get what you say about the battles lol

DSD2 decided at 4:30 yeserday afternoon that she just had to have a new outfit for church and dragged granny all over town looking for sumthing, couldn't find what she had in mind so cue hissy fit that would make a 2yrold proud......oh the joys of parenthood can't put them on ebay by any chance [hopeful face] it's doubly annoying when everyone tells you how lovely they are.... feel like saying when was that??? cos i'm pretty sure i missed it..lol

Take a deep breath...It is really exhausting being a single parent. It is a thankless job when you are dealing with a teenager that cannot possibly see things from your perspective. Try to be there for her. and not to take it too personally when it feels as though you are the last person on earth that she wants near.

I had a horrible relationship with my mother as a teenager and years later I still wonder what she was on about.

Is your daughter involved in anything illegal, immoral or life threatening? Do you have reasons to be concerned about her?

Hormones play a big part in how teenage girls behave and she will likely come around as she matures.

Cadmum not anything illegal anymore thank goodness. she does have a little girl and doesnt live with me all the time now i just find it really difficult to get on her wave length sometimes she thinks that she is invinsible and no one can touch her. i heard her talking the other day and she was going on about how people dont get her and how she knows people who can rip there heads off etc and how she is a bad girl and ordinary people are boring.(bad in the way she wont take any s* and is not scared to say what she thinks and be gobby) She swears all the time and thinks she can have her own way all the time and doesnt think twice about fronting up to me.I just dont like the person she is sometimes as much as i love her i dont think she lives in the real world and this behaviour is all a front for her own insecuritys
