Online safety / safeguarding control

Hello,
My soon to be 13 year old son has been looking at inappropriate sites online and then sexting his girlfriend. It's all pretty awful so I need to put controls on his pc. However we are a family of 6 and I don't want the internet to be limited for everyone. Is there any way that I can put controls on the pc rather than the whole internet system?

Have you tried the Microsoft family safety app?

That should work for pc/laptop/xbox or other windows devices.

I also use family link for android phones.

I use family link on phones but with the pc he can get onto other search engines so it doesn't seem to work.

Hi Festivalmitch, I am an online safety ambassador and the online software recommended on our child safety blog I believe has the capability to set various protection profiles for different devices users.

However it is important to remember that as children get older and therefore more tech savvy (I believe children now become more technically advanced then their parents around ages 10-12) if they are determined they can always find ways to circumvent many measures a parent can put in place. For example borrowing a friends device.

The best advice I can recommend is to keep up to date with the latest KidZ Online Safety issues from a reputable information source such as our blog and always try to follow best online safety practices. I Hope you have found this useful.
