Help! Emergency 16th birthday present ideas needed

So after dealing with constantly ill children since the start of September (hand foot and mouth - who knew it was so bloody awful?!) I’ve forgotten about my nephew’s 16th birthday next week. They live a long way from us so we don’t see them that often, and I’m struggling for ideas.

What clothing brands are popular with teens at the moment? Looking to spend about £50ish, so was thinking a hoodie or other nice piece of clothing (they’re not really the sort to treat the kids to cool clothes). But my kids are little, so teenagers are a mystery to me 😁 any help hugely appreciated!

My 16 y/o DD loves Hollister, might be worth having a look there

Stussy and Nike. Black white or grey, v little colour.

Nike Miller tops are the most popular with my nephew (15) and his friends. Think they are £30ish, Nike socks too, he goes through them like no one’s business. If he likes football then maybe a training top/zipper? Different option could be Lacoste Red aftershave, smells lovely and quite affordable. I’m sure you can pick that up in B&M. Tessuti have a sale on too just now, seen lovely boss polo shirts for £30/40 too. Hope this helps xx

I wouldn't try to buy a 16 year old clothes if you don't know what they like. My kids dress very differently to their cousins of similar age.

Cash is the answer at that age if you don't know what they're into.

I would also do cash if you don't know them well. And after the expose of Abercrombie & Fitch on Panorama the other day, I would not be buying anything from Hollister.

My soon to be 16 year old would be thrilled with cash! Maybe that and a token gift of something to open

Cash or voucher.

I agree cash, my 16y old wouldn't thank you for Hollister-'in' fashions vary massively for boys that age depending what they're into. I'm not sure there's much in the way of eg hoodies that I'd be able to get for mine for £50 that he'd really want, so I agree cash towards something would probably be most apppreciated. Plus a box of Heroes or something like that to eat!

I echo cash - what's cool for one teenager is social sucide to another.

If you want a little something for them to unwrap as well, I've never yet met a teenager who didn't appreciate a kilo bag of pick and mix...
