Hi
My daughter has just turned 13. Since she started her periods she has gone from our little angel to the jekyl and hyde character that awaits us when we arrive home from work. I am slowly reading, watching and gathering as much information as I can then I can become a better mother. Some days are easier than others. We have some issues, social anxiety, self esteem and a particular bad break up with her ex girlfriend. Also self harm which over the summer seems to have tapered off but could rear it's head again. Things are getting better but I am under no illusion that things could change again and we could end up back where we were. I've had the struggles with CAMHS as they are overstretched and struggles with Pastoral support at school.

I found CAMHS to be no help at all unfortunately. MH services are so underfunded it's beyond crises.

I'm just wondering if your DD is ND? A lot of the things she suffers with could be signs of being ASD, had it ever been mentioned?

Have you gone across Helping Teens Who Cut during your research? That one might be useful.

I hope you get some replies soon from MNers who have experienced self harm, that's one of the few things we haven't had to deal with Flowers
