GCSE or A level?

GCSE predictions are difficult, especially if a student doesn't like a subject,so the predictions are just that. I've had people I would have guaranteed would get an A who have panicked in the exam, and got Ds, and PITA who have dicked around for two years; I predicted low grades based on mocks, class and homework, and they have got Bs and As.

You have a better idea at A level of how they'll do from the AS grades, and yes, people have turned these things around. I also guess it depends on what Uni the student wants to go to; if they want the student the offer will be low. I knew someone who was offered 2Es to read engineering at Cambridge..they obviously liked what they saw.

What's the discrepancy between the predicted grade and the grade he needs?

Has he worked in the subjects or not up 'til now?

What coursework marks does he have, and what proportion of the grade do they make up?

Am assuming it's your ds 2shoes - hence the 'he' - apologies if not.

i bit the bullet and phoned the college. It is a nightmare finding stuff out from a teenager. The good news is it seems the predictions are a bit out of date and if I had read the sodding report(made no sense to me) I would have seen that he has already upped his grades
so fingers crossed should be ok.

Well, that's all right then

And yes, never rely on info from a teenage boy

it is like pulling teeth
i really must stop getting into a panic over it all.

It's hard this college stuff isn't it? DD3 is starting college and dd2 hopes to start uni in September. So we are having a stressful time at the moment.
DD3 is trying hard doing revision and extra work as she wants to up her grades.

Hi Christie. Yes she did apply to Dartington. She had a letter from them last wwek saying that the Arts and performance course she applied for might not be the right one for her and that she wouild probably be better doing the BA Theatre course. They aske her to email them to let them know if she wanted to change.
She emailed back straight away saying that she did want to change and is know waiting for them to get back to her.
