Watching the rent thread with interest. DD is not very responsible at her. She had a cushy weekend job 11-5 sat and sun which she's just been sacked from due to not showing up. She's at college but doing poorly, she's says she's not completely taken on the course so I told her to discuss with college, she hasn't bothered to.
She has a BF whose older than her, and gets everything on a plate from his parents which I won't do!
I was getting her dad to send her maintainence money straight to her recently so she can buy lunch at college and have a bit to spend on basics on top of her wages. But I've now told him to stop.
She's vaping which I don't agree with, but I know most teens do. She thinks getting Ubers around is how people transport themselves from A to B. She's just exceptionally lazy. She'll be 18 soon and I just feel like she's completely unequipped for the world and I'm not keeping a lazy adult who can't be bothered to work at home.
I've told her dad to send the money back to me, she's off for the summer so can eat at home and doesn't need Ubers etc. it seems mean she won't have much money to have a social life but she isn't keeping her end of the deal, working part time and putting effort in at college and until she does im not making it easy.
Does this seem harsh?
I hate parenting teens!
