Parents of teens, how much free time after jobs/chores/study would you expect to have each day and how much would you expect your teens to have? I'm trying to work out a system that is fair to all of us

Largely depends on the age of the teen, 18 is very different to 13, school work, work hours, after school activities etc. A bit hard to say as it varies daily

Teen home from school 3:30 (2 nights a week get home at 5 after clubs). Im home at 4, I walk the dogs for 45 mins (teen regularly comes and we catch up about the day), everyone chills until about 6:30, then I make dinner. Teen helps set table, clear up etc. 7:30 onwards is chill for everyone but within that time I do some housework like a load of washing, teen does homework and some chores like tidying bedroom, put washing away, unloads dishwasher. Bed at 10 for me

Overall I’d say I have about 2 hours of uninterrupted time to relax on an average weekday evening and DD has about 3 hours.

Depends on age. Before Y10 (DD was just 14) I would have said 2 hours each day before clubs.

During Y10/11 - maybe 45 minutes after school before dinner and clubs. Her school really put up the expectations from basically zero to 100.

6th form - they are supposed to self study around 15 hours/week per subject outside lessons but that includes study time in school. Hmmm.

I wouldn’t expect them to have a lot of free time during the week between studying and clubs. My DC have always had to earn their screen time through study and revision.
