13 year old doing FAST Gas

Just found videos on his phone of him and friends doing it...
I had caught him last month inhaling deodorant cans and vaping. Thought he had stopped it all.

Anyone any advice

It's a nightmare discovering this sort of thing but don't panic, it doesn't mean disaster.

Have a calm conversation with him about it. Ask him why he's doing it and state all your concerns about it.

Then tighten up the boundaries in a way that makes sense to you and explain to him why.

Accept you might not be able to stop him, but once it is in the open you can monitor him more closely and try your best to get the right messages through to him, so you can at least have a chance of stopping it escalating.

Also, your response should take into consideration the whole picture. Does he generally behave well at home and at school? Does he do OK at school, have hobbies? Does he have goals? Find a way to develop his sense of purpose so that the socialising and substance misuse doesn't take over.

Also because you caught him before, you might want to consider a punishment but that largely depends on how it was handled the first time.

Not being dramatic, lots of children have died inhaling from aerosols. You really need to nip this in the bud for his own sake.
