Modesty and health

Do other parents of teen DSs normally see them without a shirt on occasionally? I'm conscious my three are all very modest, which is fine, but it became apparent recently that DS1 may have pectus excavatum and I had no idea.

To be fair we don't do beach holidays etc so I guess the opportunity to notice such things is always going to be small. But I now feel quite guilty I hadn't noticed something was wrong earlier.

I have one of each and I have very different experience with both of them. My son when he was 8ish, he couldn't get his foreskin back so he did show me as it was becoming infected. I had to take him to GP and show him how to retract it to clean it. That was pretty much the end of me seeing him naked from that point. I told him to just let me know if it happens again or anything else he needs help with or just tell his dad if he doesn't want to tell me.

My daughter is now 13 and I still see her naked at times, this is her choice, she's open with me and I helped her when her period started, her shaving her underarms (again all her choice) I constantly seek her consent, incase her boundaries have changed, but she seems to just be ok with me seeing her.

Don't feel bad my babies lung collapsed and I though it was just how she was sitting so took a wile to realise - 2 weeks in hospital with what turned out to be serious condition all the while we were at a. School fair having fun - I look at the photos of her and I remember " she's easy to manage today thank goodness " I had no idea she was so sick

@crimewatcher I think that is the best way to be IMO. I have a 14 YO boy and 12 YO girl and both don't care about me seeing them naked either. My boy has just been in hospital for an urology problem and I think not caring or being modest is the best way to be. Albeit this doenst help the author of the post :)

@lucyhogan There was a post on this yesterday I think. My son's chest comes out instead of in like what your son has. He equally doenst mind it and swimming or on holidays just takes his top off like other boys do
