Getting to prom UK

How are your DCs getting to prom in the UK? DD had a lift sorted in a nice car with a friend but friend has had a better offer! Started looking to hire a nice car and wondering if this is the norm in the UK or if it’s ok just to drop her off in the family car? Thanks

Number 33 bus. Last dance my DD went to we walked to the school.

DSs school have tried to stop all this by bussing them to a secret location for Prom after some kids arrived in a helicopter. The buses set off from school. Only now people are arriving at school in a limo to get on the bus! Unless DS is invited to something someone else has arrived he will be arriving in my Peugeot 106.

There is always a mix at proms I’ve been to (a lot!) Some come in limos, some in Uncle Dave’s nice sports car, some come in interesting vehicles (old fashioned bus, camper van etc) but these have got rarer. Many students arrive in their parents car that has clearly been given a bit of a wash for the occasion.

Do you have a friend or relative with something a bit flash? A Range Rover or Mercedes or similar? That’s the most ‘usual’ arrival vehicle.

Dropped them off in the car. A few came in dad's convertible or uncles jag type thing, one boy came on the back of his uncles 1940's motorcycle, and one boy in a tractor
