Are any of your teens going to NCS (National Citizen Service) this year?

Hi all

I signed my daughter up for NCS to do over the summer and wondered if any of you had teens that have done it before or are planning on doing it this year?

She's doing the outdoor version of it, she wasn't keen initially but seemed to have warmed to the idea now, I guess she's hesitant as she won't know anybody but think it would be a good experience for her (and will keep from under my feet for a week!)

I'm interested in hearing your views and how your teens found it and if you have any tips, thanks!

I guess that should have said 'doing' instead of 'going' but you get the idea!

My dd is also doing the outdoor one in August. It was her idea, she really wants to do it as a couple of her friends are doing it. I'm a bit 🫤 about because I've read mixed reviews. I think it depends on where you are in the country whether they'll have a good time or not.

Not got children who’ve done it, but have worked with some of the groups in their activities. Does vary quite widely across the country, ones that’ve worked with the search team are usually the well supported proactively led groups, but it’s only a week, so not long to tough it out if it’s a little lack lustre, and one more thing to add to a cv if no other worth
