I would really appreciate some advice - I have been conducting searches online but still unsure.

Three years ago my DS was 17 and foolishly drove his friends car without insurance and over the limit. He admitted his guilt in court and was very sorry. He was just as furious with himself as both myself and his father were.

He has just been offered a job, no driving needed or necessary but they will be conducting a DBS search. Can anyone tell me if this will show up and secondly if it does that the job offer will be revoked ... or likely to.

Many thanks in advice for help ... I have been on MN for some years and help when I can Daffodil

Yes it'll show up and it'll make a difference if he doesn't declare it but it's discovered on the search. Whether it will make a difference to his employment chances with the company, only the company can answer that.

Is it a enhanced or basic DBS ?
Either way round he should tell his potential employer about it , it is much better to be upfront about about anything that may show up .

Thank you for responses. The firm that has offered him the job have said that they use a third party for references and DBS check. So should he email the firm and explain that when he was 17 he arrested?

He has worked as a temp at this firm and they were so happy with his performance that he was invited in for interviews. It is pretty much his dream job.

Thank you again!

I’d pre empty it get in and tell them first

I presume they will disappear after 5 years but would still be on an enhanced one
