If your preteen plays out after school, when do they eat?

This isn't particularly a question about what time they can stay out till, but more around how do they fit everything else in?
My son is 12 , year 7 of high school and has been making new friends
They meet up after school to play football, which is great , I'm so happy for him , he absolutely loves socialising. We are matching up with what the other parents are doing regarding what time they have to be in etc
The trouble with my son is he wants to do this every day (I understand this). They get in from school, get changed and are out the door in 5 minutes. It's a high and bye. This is around 4pm.
I also have younger children. We have our evening meal around 6. Which means every night I'm either having to make him a separate meal later on or reheat a plate of what I've made for him
Homework is starting to ramp up now , and when he gets in he only really has about 90 minutes to eat, see the family, homework, bath or shower then wind down and get into bed
Everything feels extremely rushed
Homework for example I know he tries to get done as quickly as possible
I would prefer if he went put 2 or 3 times a week to give him time for other stuff inbetween but he just is so desperate to go out , especially if the others are out of course
How do you manage your evenings to fit everything in?

I think 2 hours after school playing football is enough - just tell him to get back for 6! Maybe later on a Friday night or more at the weekend? That sounds reasonable to me.

How far from home is he going to play? Is he close enough to come back home for his meal then back out again? My ds does this goes to play out straight from school but stays very local within shouting distance 🤣 I shout him when his meal is ready at 5:30 ish then he's back out again. back in for shower / homework 7:30 ish. I love the fact that he's out playing and there's lots of kids near us many kids don't have this unfortunately.
