Hi everyone - I have a 14 year old who’s 6ft with a smaller than 28inch waist … school trousers are 34inch leg and will be too short come September . I need ideas where to look for casual trousers for him please .. historically relied on Next (28L) but their long lengths are currently mostly 32L upwards … he is starting to look a bit scruffy !

also any idea on school trousers would be appreciated … he’s got 30/34 super skinny from M and S at the mo .. I’ve tried all the major supermarkets without success

thank you

i used to rely on Asos Tall for DS

My 17y0 is 6ft6 and buys most of his clothing from Boohoo Man. Has the app on his phone. They have a tall section which is brilliant for trousers etc.
As for school trousers, I have bought the same as you at M&S. Luckily he's post 16 and can wear normal smart casual to school now.

Struggle with school trousers as well. Age 14 and 6ft 3...got the longest ones from John Lewis and reckon they'll last a term.
Waist 32 though so next is good for jeans etc.

Hollister and Asos work for my DS who is similar size.

Thank you ladies for replying - I’m all goggled out so great to have some more ideas

Eek - I’m used to get 2/3 pairs for that … guess the reality is I now have an adult sized child

My 13 yr old gets 28" waist, 34" length jeans from Uniqlo and his absolute favourites -Levi's.

For school trousers, there are a couple of independent uniform places near us and they always seem to have the perfect sizes, cheaper than I expected too. Would recommend trying independents if you have any locally.

Thanks again everyone - ASOS Long lengths look like they will be really useful if he keeps growing as he is .

never would have even thought of some of the brands mentioned as I’m not really a fashion aware person

My Dd is 5ft 10in (and most of that seems to be her legs) with a 22 inch waist. She does eat though!

Thank God for ASOS. They do extra tall from a size 4 upwards. They're still too big on her waist but they are near enough.

Thanks for this tip! My DD is only 10 but if she follows my path, she will hit 6 ft while she is still 12 but still be super skinny.

Someone on another thread recently recommended Primark for 36L jeans. Shame they don't have online shopping. We will have to make a trip to another town to check them out.

For school trousers, I don't know. I always relied on M&S but they only go up to 34". I'm going to have the same problem as you in September.

Have you tried seeing if you can take the hem down - my sons came down and I discovered it is double hemmed so that will get us to August at least

I'll have a look. Thanks for the tip!
