Self Harm

Hello All,

Need your advise. I noticed some scratch marks on my 15 year DD hand today. I did see some of faint scratch marks on her wrist in past too but she stated it was due to pigmentation. The fresh marks which I see today are not that deep, they look like scratches. I did ask her about the same but she said that she scratches her wrist during exams but it is purely unintentional and not self harm. In fact she has also cut her nails once she realised she is leaving scratch marks on her wrist. She said she is happy with her life and would obviously not self harm. Not sure how to react. To believe or not to believe. Extremely stressed. Please advise.

what makes you call these scratches "self harm"?

Not sure, they were not deep cuts, scratches but not random scratch marks, they were parallel and vertical. Maybe I am over thinking.

Also she agreed that she unintentionally scratches herself under exam pressure. My 10 old ds noticed it on her hands and was extremely worried.
