Rebellious teenager!?

I am looking for some advice on how to handle my 13yr old DD. I had to pick her up today from a local park as she had fallen over. When I collected her, I realised she had been drinking. Found out that she had taken a full bottle of gin from home. Was only last week I found her with a vape in her bedroom….following on from her poor behaviour in school, and bouts of lying and stealing money from home. I have tried to talk to her to find out if there is an underlying issue but she won’t talk to me. I am at my wits end, I go down the route of discipline by taking away her phone and stopping her going out with her mates etc as well as going through the dangers and trying to explain why I don’t want her doing this stuff, but once it’s over within a few weeks she just goes back to her usual ways! Any advice??

I'm going through exactly the same with my 12 year old daughter , she just got expelled from school. The behaviour got progressively worse from the age of 11

She sounds very unhappy and self destructive.
Ive put my DC in new schools and moved to a new area when all else failed.

I can't imagine just how worried you are. Are the school helpline at all with her poor behaviour there?

oh OP, sounds like a nightmare. Is there anyone DD will talk to? What has school said?

Hey everyone,
My daughter is 12, almost 13 and I am really struggling with rebellion and trying to protect her. She just doesn't want to listen to sense. She has a boyfriend and recently things got pretty bad. I'm pretty sure he's coercive but she doesn't see it. The next step.for me is stopping her but this is not going to come easy. I also found that she has been cutting herself and I'm terrified of her doing that when I put in some serious boundaries. I also.struggle.with my own guilt at doing these things but she is going down a really bad route. She has spoken to me about wanting a vape and drinking. She has also spoken about sex, I am very worried about her. How can I help her? Thanks
