Using My Daughters Friend As Royal Mail

I think I've dropped a clanger. I sold some books online and noticed one of them was going to the same road that my 15 y old daughters schoolfriend, A lives on (about an hour away - they're both about 30 mins drive from school). Anyway the book (its music, not the karma sutra, btw) is going to her next door but 1 neighbour and thought A could post it as she passes tomorrow on her way home from school. My daughter checked with her and A was happy to do it. All good. Then I mentioned the coincidence to my OH tonight, who said it was grubby, using a kid as Royal Mail and if i was A's parents, I'd not be impressed. I was a bit upset, and he backpedalled, but still said it was out of order. I could just post this thing, but I dont want A thinking I didnt trust her, and my daughter said she'd not be fazed if A's mum gave her post for our neighbour - it seems like a logical thing to do. Now I'm over thinking it!!!

It's fine. It's not daily! 😂

It is a one off. I would not worry.

He's being a wee bit of a tit.

Your OH is overthinking it. He needs to get a grip

It's fine, though I wouldn't trust my lot to actually post it through if it doesn't benefit them. Will you be refunding the buyers postage (if they paid any)? Does it matter to you that you'll have no proof of postage/delivery?

They might see that they paid for a school child to hand carry their book and feel a bit miffed?

If you sold them on somewhere like eBay, you will need a tracking number. As the customer can say they were never received and claim a refund.

I do love you lot. Your points are spot on. Particularly re the tracking...and him being a tit 😁
