Announcing pregnancy to teens

I wasn’t sure where to post but as this is teen specific I’m hoping someone with experience can help.
i have a 12 year old and a 15 year old and I’m pregnant. The new baby doesn’t have the same father as them. They have a great relationship with their step father as their real father isn’t interested and had 5 other children over the years.
im asking for help with the best way to tell them I’m pregnant. I think they will be happy but with the issues surrounding their father and half siblings I’m concerned they’ll see just another baby to come along and take up my time. If anyone can suggest the best way to tell them and keep them involved and reassured I’d appreciate it

I don't have personal experience of this. But just acknowledging that they may be shocked and even upset at first is a good step. Tell them you understand if they are not immediately over the moon, and allow them space to process. Also let them know if they have any concerns or questions that they can come to you.

My dd's friend was vile when she found out her mum was pregnant by her stepdad.
She saw the pregnancy test in the bin.

She maintained all the way through the pregnancy that she wouldn't be touching the child and she hated the idea of having a baby in the house.

Needless to say, as soon as he was born, she adored her baby brother.

Expect them not to be happy about it but quietly hope they will be.
