Early teen - covid and food

Not sure what to do. DD1 (13) had covid ages ago, and lost a lot of her sense of smell. We spoke to Dr and got referred to ENT, but still on a waiting list (been a year since lost her sense of smell). She stopped eating chocolate (couldn't taste it and texture was weird, but ate everything else normal for her (she is a pescatarian with a HUGE dislike of lentils/quorn/tofu so limited in her protein choices)

However, in last month she has said food mow tastes awful. Anything sweet tastes like dirt. Cheese and yoghurt are out. Bread and potatoes are gone. All fish except Mexican spiced stuff is out. We are down to pasta, tomatoes, bananas and occasional fish. I believe lack of taste (I've watched her lick chilli paste without so much as an eyelid flicker) but am concerned at such a limited diet. Also worried that this will fuel her tendency to picky eating and we'll end up with an ED. (Also willing to believe I'm overthinking as I was borderline anorexic at her age, and now fighting tendency to nighttime binging).

Any ideas or experience of anything similar?

It sounds like she is already very limited diet wise, it must be a worry for you. No experience wrt loss of taste -is a private consultation an option? You could be waiting a long time to be seen on the nhs.

Can you bump her protein up by blitzing silken tofu up to go in a tomato pasta sauce? She won’t taste it, or even know it’s there if you don’t tell her. She wouldn’t know red split lentils were in a tomato based sauce either tbh if you let them really cook down but they may be more noticeable than silken tofu I suppose.

I was thinking of something similar to this with the silken tofu.
