My teen is just 13 (july), he has always been a good boy at home and at school, he generally prefers to stay in rather than go out and apart from the usual teen attitude and then silence he is what I consider pretty "normal"... my question may seem unecessary based on this description however something is bothering me. For about a year there has been a shift from sweet little cuddly boy to too cool to cuddle, friend centric teen, he has left his old bff behind in favour of the footballing cool kids and spends time mostly online gaming with them, I hear him interacting laughing and have a hood time with them and I know I am now im on the other side of that door, despite that I try to keep dialogue open but he haa become very much a closed book, I try to respect this change and acknowledge its part of growing up, and this far ive been fine with it. The reason for this post is that usually im in receipt of just one word answers from him, this is the norm now and im used to it, he isnt at all chatty and conversation is pretty limited this has been the new norm for a while, however one night this week he virtually bounced into my room at 10pm loud and lary asked if I fancied a game of fifa (I did) and we had 20 minutes of high spirited interaction, it was so unusual I asked outright if he had sniffed something or taken something ?both things he laughed off but it was soooo out of character that im actually now thinking maybe he did, he does have Deoderant cans in his room, am I being paranoid? as he would accuse me of being or am I right to think something was odd about that night?
