School holidays and working

For those with younger teens, what do they do while you work during school holidays?
Considering taking a new job which would be 9am to 4.15pm four days a week. Next summer my kids will be 12 and 14. They don't want to go to organised clubs. I can get my parents to pop in most days but they can't commit to every day. How long did you leave your kids alone at these ages? I don't want to apply for the job if I can't make it work for the family.

I found during the last 6 week holidays that my 12 yr old slept until dinner time and Tik Toked all her way through the holidays. She's an only child, so doesn't have anyone to fall out with!

They just stay at home. Both have a key. If they go out I want a text with where they are going and what time they will be back. I make them lunch before I go and leave it in the fridge (stops them just eating junk all day).
