Food allergies and teen summer jobs

DS will be 16 next year so we're thinking about summer jobs. The only problem he has a very small number of food allergies and carries an epi-pen so it looks like lots of options are off the table.

What do other teens with food allergies do? Will supermarkets take them and allow them to work around them? Obviously DS could wear gloves but I'm not sure how tolerant employers are.

Could they do something that wasn't food related as a job, like Admin?

Can he swim to a good standard?

Get him to train for his Bronze Medallion, etc. then he can apply for lifeguard roles at your local pool/ leisure centre.

prit I'm not sure offices have summer jobs anymore. I know ours doesn't. But I will look into it.

oh no he can't really, although he is active. 7 years of swimming lessons and he can barely tread water. Hasn't swum since the pandemic.

Mine works in a chip shop where there are no nuts.

Mine works in a supermarket. No issues with the allergy at all.
