Gigs at the Birmingham NEC

Or whatever it's called now...

DD wants to see the Vamps in December. Venue says 14 and under have to be accompanied.

DD will be 15 but her best mate that she wants to take will be 14.5.

Do they check ages on the way in? Or do I have to go with them?

Oh don't know on that one sorry. What are their plans if they do check and don't let them in?

Resorts World Arena? We still call it the NEC too 😁.

I went to a concert there last December - ID wasn't checked, but then again there's zero chance of me passing for 14 or under.

The Utilita Arena - what a miserable name.

Anyway - I don't want to be stuck if it turns out they do check ages, so I have bought an extra ticket.

If necessary, I will go with them but If anyone else has teens that have been to big gigs at stadium venues and can let me know if they had their ages checked that would be great.

Just fyi the Utilita is the one in the city centre that used to be the National Indoor Arena and the NEC out by the airport is Resorts World.

Thanks - yes, I realised that when I went back to check what it's actually called!

That would not have been a good start to the evening. :-)

We're local and my teens go to gigs at both arenas often. They've never been asked for ID
