Moving house mid A levels

Just looking at our mortgage with DH and agree that we’d like to downsize when our current rate ends (in 3 years) to pay off the balance.

We’d be moving to somewhere smaller but still with enough bedrooms for the kids, who will then be 20 and 17. So DD will be in the middle of her A levels (by which I mean, between y12 and y13, not in the middle of the exams!) She’ll still go to the same school etc as we won’t move far.

Is this a crazy time to move or totally normal? We’ve been trying to avoid any upheavals during GCSEs and A levels but with two kids that’s quite a long time! My family lived in one house my whole childhood so I don’t have any else of whether moving is a huge stress for teenagers or do they take it in their stride?

Thank you.

It’s fine as long as it’s not during exam period.
