Visiting family with teens

When they were younger we'd meet up with cousins etc in the holidays and the children could play.

It's changed now and teens more reluctant, coupled with quite long distances.

How do you get on with family visits with teens? Do you still go with them, or do something different, if anything?

I tell them I am going. I ask who wants to come.
Those who want to come, come, those who don't, don't.

We do this also!

My 17yo dd still loves seeing her cousins and extended family in general. She is very sociable though, and is generally happy to chat to anyone. My nephew of the same age seems happy enough to come and visit. He isn't terribly talkative with the rest of us, but he does seem to enjoy hanging out with dd.

Our teens come with us sometimes but now they’re older they mostly sort out seeing their cousins themselves, they have them on Snapchat and other social media.
