Hi,

needing some advice regarding my 15 year old daughter who rides and competes showjumping. Over the last 2 years she has gone up 4 sizes in jackets, she currently in a ladies size 16 and had just said again that she needs a new jacket as its too tight. Obviously I'm concerned for her health but its so difficult to tackle the issue. However I approach the issue she will say I'm body shaming her and in the past stopped eating for 3 weeks, she goes through fazes of being very aware of what she's but its so difficult to find a balance.
I can't carry on just buying bigger jackets. Help

Well most kids grow a fair bit between 13-15 so that’s not surprising that a couple of new jackets are needed but if the size 16 jacket is quite new, how is she putting on the weight?
By that I mean is she eating food additional to family meals, does she have lots of snacks that could be changed or does she possibly have an undiagnosed thyroid issue?
If you can see the reasons for the weight gain then there are at least things you can do about it, if you can’t see a reason then there could possibly be an underlying cause. If she is heading into a size 18, are you able to sell her smaller jackets and buy her one second hand?

Well it's not unusual to move up sizes at that age. Showjumping jackets are tight, is it boob?

You sound a bit resentful at the cost of her hobby tbh
